The Science and Power of Hope

Become a Hope Navigator! Join Dr. Chan Hellman from the Hope Research Center. This is a two day in-person Hope Navigator training event. December 14 and 15, 2022 Hosted at the Lake Larry J. Farr Community Center at the Civic Center Plaza, Shasta Lake 9 am to 3:30 pm. There is a charge of $300 dollars per person. Teams of five or more will have a fee of $250 per person. The Hope Navigator training builds the capacity within your organization to train and provide leadership and support with finding, enhancing, and modeling Hope Rising. This training includes a completion certification for participants with will allow them to implement the evidence-based program, thus building the capacity to sustain the Science and Power of Hope throughout the community. Mandated Child Abuse Reporter Training

Learn how to protect our children, and keep them safe. This training is designed to assist the general public, educators, health practitioners, law enforcement officers, child-care providers, volunteers, social workers, religious and youth group workers, and all individuals who are mandated to report as part of their job, in understanding their respective duties and responsibilities under the California state law. Unfortunately, Child Abuse is on the rise in Shasta County, in 2019 there were 3,514 reports of child abuse or neglect made. 753 of those reports were substantiated (“proved to be true”) and resulted in the removal of 304 children from their homes and placed in other locations (foster care, kinship care, etc). Mandated Reporters are required by law to act when they suspect child abuse and/or neglect.
