Pathways to Hope for Children (Pathways) has released a mobile phone app specifically geared towards teens in Shasta County. Teen Centered – Shasta is an app that was made possible through grants from the Shasta County Interagency Narcotics Taskforce (SINTF) and the Shasta County Office of Education.
The app is full of resources for teens to access just by tapping their screen. Teens requested access to resources for friends in need, so within two taps teens who are depressed or have friends that need help can be talking to someone from the suicide prevention hotline. If there is teen dating violence, teens can reach out to One SAFE Place through the app. College Options is just a tap away so teens can learn about admission, the FAFSA or what education options are there for them. Teens requested job information, so the app connects to the Smart Workforce Center. During teen center hours, teens can “chat” directly with teen center staff about anything! There is even information specifically geared towards teens about COVID-19, homeless resources and so much more!
From the Apple App store, the app can be downloaded at: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/teencentered/id1575603908
From the Google Play Store, the app can be downloaded at: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.app_teencentered.layout&hl=en_US&gl=US
